The 0–10 score is a measurement. The 1–5 level is institutional policy.

Institution risk tolerance

Two institutions screening the same wallet can land on different levels without disagreeing about the facts. Re-grading a stored report under a different profile never changes the stored score.

Starting profile

The default. Boundaries track the continuous score's own risk bands, so the level and the band agree.

Highest auto-accept level

Screens at or below this level can proceed without a human looking at them.

Level boundaries on the 0–10 score

Four ascending numbers. Everything below the first is level 1; everything at or above the last is level 5.

1 to 2

2 to 3

3 to 4

4 to 5

Any sanctions, terrorism-financing or CSAM match forces level 5, whatever the score. Liability for a designated party does not scale with the amount.

What each profile means

Profile	Boundaries	Auto-accept up to
Conservative	1.0 / 2.5 / 4.5 / 6.5	level 2	A regulated institution with low appetite: modest exposure already reaches level 3, and anything substantial is prohibited.
Balanced	2.0 / 4.0 / 6.0 / 8.0	level 3	The default. Boundaries track the continuous score's own risk bands, so the level and the band agree.
Permissive	3.0 / 5.5 / 7.0 / 8.5	level 3	A higher-appetite desk that expects exposure to unregulated venues and reserves the upper levels for serious findings.

The 1-5 level is policy applied to the continuous 0-10 score. Changing the tolerance re-grades new screens and never alters a stored score.
